SPIRIT announces Telephony Add-ons for TMS320C54CST TI DEVELOPER CONFERENCE, HOUSTON, TX, Aug. 6, 2002 - SPIRIT ( www.spiritcorp.com C54CST is integrated one-chip software + hardware solution based on TI's TMS320C5403 DSP chip and SPIRIT eXpressDSP-compliant Client Side Telephony (CST) software algorithms. eXpressDSPT compliancy of SPIRIT algorithms ensures software compatibility and ease of integration into customer applications. Due to the SPIRIT Client Side Telephony software modular structure and standardized interface, users can easily achieve desired functionality by fitting selected add-ons to the basic C54CST solution. The Unified interface also makes it easy to build user-specific applications on the basis of CST add-ons. "Texas Instruments chose SPIRIT to provide DSP software algorithms for the innovative Client Side Telephony (CST) solution because of their extensive telephony algorithm knowledge, software excellence, timely support and quality of user documentation," said Mark Mattson, DSP Systems Program Manager, Texas Instruments. "They were able to offer 14 eXpressDSP- compliant algorithms completing our Client-Side Telephony DSP system and reducing the start-up cost , up-front fees and royalties to our customers. " The SPIRIT CST add-on algorithms announced today include SPIRIT proprietary industry-proven 1200 bps vocoder, G.729AB, G.723.1, G3 Fax data pump and FoIP. They are extremely memory and power-efficient, leveraging portions of SPIRIT code pre-existing in the C54CST DSP ROM and extend the functionality of existing SPIRIT telephony software ROMed into the C54CST chip. SPIRIT's software add-ons are available for immediate licensing today for C54CST device. SPIRIT add-ons seamlessly fit CST and SPIRIT Telephony Framework, thus minimizing time required for integration of user's applications. CST add-ons have extremely low memory and MIPS consumption, because they are based on CST software blocks already in ROM. No external memory required for a wide range of applications, thus minimizing the total system cost. Users can easily build their own applications on top of CST add-ons, to achieve user-specific functionality. "The C54CST is the first to offer 14 telephony algorithms from SPIRIT on a single DSP," said Andrew Sviridenko, CEO of SPIRIT. "Because SPIRIT Telephony framework is open and flexible, customers can extend this solution by selecting other eXpressDSP-compliant algorithms from SPIRIT and other members of TI's extensive third party network." SPIRIT was selected to be a speaker at the Texas Instruments Developer Conference and will provide the Developing Telephony lab Hands-on Workshop on Wednesday, August 7, from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. About SPIRIT
