TLi goes to Silicon with Arasan UFS IPDecember 8, 2015 -- TLi, a leading Korean semiconductor company that had previously licensed Arasan’s UFS Device Controller IP and its MPHY supporting up to Gear 3 speeds, has now gone to silicon with Arasan’s UFS offering. TLi is the latest company to join the ranks of several others that have successfully gone to silicon with Arasan’s UFS Total IP Solution. Arasan is a leading provider of JEDEC UFS IP and MIPI MPHY Analog IP cores. Arasan’s UFS Host, Device and MPHY IP’s have been licensed and are in production with prominent UFS based memory vendors and application processor companies. Arasan’s UFS solutions can be found in some of the leading edge smartphones available in the market today. “With almost all of the UFS Memory vendors licensing our UFS Device with MPHY IP along with most leading AP providers, we can ensure compliance across the UFS Ecosystem” said Prakash Kamath, CTO at Arasan. “The quality of IP and support provided by Arasan’s engineering team was exceptional”, said Yoonseok Song, VP of TLi. “We are very happy that we are going to silicon with Arasan IP. TLi has rich portfolio of flash controller devices, including eMMC. Now, UFS will enrich our product lineup.” Arasan ensures compliance of its UFS IP Solutions with the UFS 2.1 Standard and the MIPI MPHY 3.1 standard by participating actively in interoperability sessions with other leading UFS Solution providers, working with test and compliance companies such as Agilent as well as testing with UFS memory devices as they become available in the market. UFS compliance and production testers from leading vendors use Arasan’s UFS IP which serves as a testimonial to the company’s commitment to quality. Availability Arasan’s UFS 2.1 Total IP solution is available immediately for licensing and includes UFS Host Controller, UFS Device Controller IP, Verification IP, Software Stack and HDK’s for UFS Device and Host Controller IP and the MIPI M-PHY V3.1 GDSII. The M-PHY supports all Gears (1 to 3) at Rate A and B (up to 5.9Gbps) and is currently available in 40nm and 28nm and will be shortly available at the 16nm node. MPHY supporting Gear 4 speeds of 12 GHz is scheduled for launch in 2016 at the 16nm and 14nm foundry nodes. About Arasan Arasan is a leader in providing IP’s for the Mobile SoC’s with over 15 year of experience in the market and over a billion chips shipped. Arasan’s IP’s can be found inside almost all Smartphone, Tablet and Notebook SoC’s. Arasan’s high-quality, silicon-proven, Total IP Solutions include digital IP cores, analog PHY interfaces, verification IP, hardware verification kits, protocol analyzers, software stacks and drivers, and optional customization services for Ethernet, MIPI, PCIe, USB, UFS, SD, SDIO, eMMC, and UFS. Arasan’s Total IP products serve system architects and chip design teams in applications that require silicon-proven, validated IP, delivered with the ability to integrate and verify both digital, analog and software components in the shortest possible time with the lowest risk.
