ITRI Selects CEVA-XC DSP for 4G Small Cell Base StationsLeading Taiwanese research center chooses industry proven processor for software-defined radio eNodeB platform MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Feb. 18, 2016 -- CEVA, Inc. (NASDAQ: CEVA), the leading licensor of signal processing IP for smarter, connected devices, announced today that ITRI, the award-winning Taiwanese research and development organization, has selected the CEVA-XC DSP for the development of its new 4G small cell base station platform. ITRI small cell projects are funded from the Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT) of the Ministry of Economy Affairs (MOEA), Taiwan. The MOEA spares no effort to construct the small cell key components and improve the international competitiveness of related Taiwanese network communication supply chain. ITRI will deploy the CEVA-XC to enable a Software-Defined Radio (SDR) baseband architecture for its small cell platform which provides a 3GPP release 10 compliant LTE Access Point (AP) solution integrating the core functions of baseband signal processing, RF front-end circuit and software protocols. The CEVA-XC is already widely deployed in communications infrastructure applications, with multiple designs for macro cells and small cells. Eran Briman, vice president of marketing at CEVA, commented: "ITRI seeks out the best technologies and applies them to create innovative, practical solutions to real world issues. We are honored that ITRI has selected the CEVA-XC DSP processor to underpin its latest base station technology development." The CEVA-XC DSP is a scalable multimode communications processor architecture for advanced wireless applications. It features powerful vector capabilities alongside a general computation engine, enabling it to deliver the combination of performance and flexibility demanded by next-generation communications applications such as wireless infrastructure, small cells, home networking, smart grid and terminals.
