Four New US Companies Join ARM ATAP ProgramNew ATAP Partners Support ARM Foundry Program CAMBRIDGE, UK-- Oct. 9, 2002 – ARM [(LSE: ARM); (Nasdaq: ARMHY)], the industry's leading provider of 16/32-bit embedded RISC processor technology, today announced the latest expansion of ATAP™, the ARM technology access program, with the addition of four new US Partners. Automotive Integrated Electronics Corp., eSilicon Corp., Intrinsix Corp., and ReShape Inc. have joined the program, bringing the total number of ATAP Partners to 34. These new program Partners extend the ATAP engineering pool to more than 3,200 engineers.
The ATAP program provides a framework for selecting and enabling competent design centers with the ARM technology necessary for system-on-chip (SoC) designs. ARM® core-based SoC developers are able to use ATAP Partner services for some of the more complex tasks associated with SoC design, 'bridging the gap' with any skill shortfall the developer may have.

About the ATAP Program There are currently 34 Partners in the ATAP program, with a resource of more than 3,200 engineers available to work on ARM core-based SoC designs. ATAP design Partners must go through a strict qualification process to become an ARM Approved Design Center. This includes a design flow audit, training on implementing designs with ARM cores, tools, AMBA® interface peripherals and development techniques. Each Design Center must demonstrate its own unique skills in specific technology domains, as well as end-market expertise.
