StarCore, LLC Commences Innovative DSP Licensing StrategyVenture sets out to change the DSP competitive playing field through its open licensing business model Austin Texas - 01 October, 2002 - StarCore, LLC has opened its doors as a stand-alone venture, commencing an innovative strategy to develop and license digital signal processor (DSP) core technologies for use in a wide variety of communications and consumer products. "We've been anxious for this day to arrive ever since we announced plans to make StarCore a stand-alone entity," stated Tom Lantzsch, chief executive officer of StarCore, LLC. "The economic conditions in the technology industry are ripe for us to begin proliferating our licensable StarCore DSP core. Due to current economic conditions and the rising costs of developing DSP technology, many semiconductor and original equipment manufacturers are open to the idea of licensing a proven, scalable DSP solution so they can focus their research and development resources on their core competencies." The company's central goal is to proliferate StarCore's world-class DSP core technologies through an open-licensing business model. This strategy contrasts sharply with traditional DSP business models based on developing proprietary DSP technologies, or other industry collaborations that design cores for use by one or two companies. "We have been favorably impressed by the overall market acceptance of this strategy and we are receiving significant interest from potential customers," says Lantzsch. "The market is validating our assessment that licensing a cost-effective, high-performance DSP architecture is a winning proposition." Office Locations and Leadership Team The company has also established a new corporate image comprising new logo and colors. This new image projects the continuity of the StarCore technological legacy and the freshness of the new business model. StarCore, LLC enjoys the added benefit of beginning operations with a seasoned leadership team. The officers of the new company are: - Tom Lantzsch, chief executive officer. Lantzsch was previously vice president and director of Intellectual Property Value Creation for Motorola - Alex Bedarida , vice president, Marketing and Sales.
