Tensilica Licenses Xtensa Core to Agilent TechnologiesUpdate: Cadence Completes Acquisition of Tensilica (Apr 24, 2013) Storage Networking Leader to Leverage Configurable and Extensible Processor Technology in its Next-Generation Storage Networking Devices
SANTA CLARA, Calif., October 21, 2002 – Tensilica, Inc. the leading supplier of configurable and extensible microprocessor cores, today announced that it has licensed its Xtensa microprocessor core to Agilent Technologies Inc. Agilent plans to use the Xtensa core in some of its next-generation storage networking IC solutions.
"With storage networking technologies scaling to 10 Gigabits, a flexible high-performance technology and design approach is required," said Martin Scott, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Storage and Networking Division. "Tensilica's highly-flexible processor core complements our scalable and widely used Tachyon Fibre Channel controller technology, and will be a part of an extensive portfolio of feature rich silicon products."
