Siroyan DSP core selected for IBM Blue Logic IP collaboration programSiroyan joins short list of "credible suppliers" to help advance customer designs Siroyan today announced that its DSP core has been selected to be made available through IBM's Blue Logic IP Collaboration Progam. As a result of the new agreement, Siroyan's scalable SRA328, the first DSP core based on the company's OneDSP high-performance architecture, will be proven in IBM's Blue Logic ASIC design methodology for both 0.18-micron and 0.13-micron process technology, and made available to its customers. Launched in March this year, the Blue Logic IP Collaboration Program is designed to promote close working relationships between IBM and the industry's leading third-party intellectual property vendors. The Program expands the range of IP that is ready to be integrated into IBM's ASICs, and provides customers with a common and reliable design methodology. "We are delighted to be collaborating with IBM on this Program. Our selection is a testament to both companies' efforts to provide common foundations for advanced design," said Adrian Wise, chief technology officer at Siroyan. "This agreement is both a natural extension of and a significant milestone in our partnership program. It allows us to address a whole new breed of opportunities". "DSPs are a key building-block for next-generation designs, and we are very pleased to bring Siroyan on board", said Tom Reeves, vice-president, ASIC product group, IBM Microelectronics. "Designers are looking for advanced technologies to give their products a competitive advantage. Through the IBM Blue Logic IP Collaboration Program, we are giving customers the widest possible range of options for designing and manufacturing ASICs". Siroyan's OneDSP architecture utilizes scalable processing clusters that enable the DSP cores to be tuned for the specific requirements of a range of applications, from high-performance telecommunications to cost-sensitive consumer products. This highly flexible approach offers a powerful and cost-effective solution for multi-processor designs. IBM's Blue logic Program brings together an extensive suite of core intellectual property and systems architecture skills, a broad range of packaging options and proven design tools and methodologies for custom designs. IBM has for several years achieved the ranking of #1 worldwide ASIC supplier, according to independent statistics released by Gartner Dataquest, the US-based industry consulting firm.
