Silicon Wave Offers UltimateBlue Embedded Software for Wide Range of Bluetooth ApplicationsRoyalty-free Bluetooth software stack and profile run on single-chip UltimateBlue™ 3000 radio processor
NEW ORLEANS, CTIA Wireless 2003, March 18, 2003 -- Silicon Wave, a leading supplier of integrated circuits for Wireless Personal Area Networks, today announced the availability of its UltimateBlue Embedded Software allowing designers to easily integrate Bluetooth wireless technology into a wide range of products including keyboards, mouse, mobile phones, headsets, and automotive hands-free devices. The royalty-free software stack and standard Bluetooth profiles can be run directly on Silicon Wave's single-chip UltimateBlue 3000 radio processor, significantly reducing the total cost of a complete Bluetooth system.
Silicon Wave's UltimateBlue Embedded Software is a full-featured, robust software stack that has been extensively tested for interoperability and supports a variety of profiles including headset, hands-free, HID (Human Interface Device), and others. The software is Bluetooth Specification Version 1.1 qualified and is upgradeable to the upcoming Bluetooth Specification Version 1.2, assuring that today's product designs can easily take advantage of the newest Bluetooth features.
The 32-bit ARM7TDMI® processor core baseband integrated into Silicon Wave's UltimateBlue 3000 radio processor delivers the necessary horsepower to run the UltimateBlue Embedded Software along with profiles and other applications. This allows the UltimateBlue 3000 to be an applications-platform for a variety of embedded solutions including those that require optimization such as audio. The ARM7TDMI processor core also lets customers take advantage of the cost savings, ease of use, and faster time-to-market offered by utilizing industry-standard product development tools.
