Virtual Silicon Names Dan Hillman VP of Business Operations and InfrastructureSUNNYVALE, Calif. --April 7, 2003 - Virtual Silicon Technology, Inc., a leader in semiconductor intellectual property, today named Dan Hillman as vice president, business operations and infrastructure. Hillman will be responsible for applications engineering, customer support, EDA tools and methodology, IP development methodology and productization.
"Dan's knowledge of the habits of the IC development community as well as exceptional knowledge of the design process and tool structures will provide strong leadership as we continue to move Virtual Silicon toward industry-leading levels of IP development infrastructure and design re-use methodology," said Barry Hoberman, president and CEO of Virtual Silicon. Hillman has more than 25 years experience in chip engineering and extensive development and management experience in the semiconductor, computer and EDA industries. He was previously the vice president of engineering at inSilicon. Prior to that he was the corporate applications group director for Synopsys' Physical Synthesis Business Unit. Hillman also spent 11 years at Apple Computer as a hardware manager directly involved in the design of the Apple IIGS, Macintosh and Newton. He began his career at RCA and Zilog corporations. Hillman holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University.
