Verisity and YogiTech Announce Three New e Verification ComponentsATAPI, CAN and OCP e Verification Components (eVCs) Comply with e Reuse Methodology (eRM)
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 28, 2003-- Verisity Ltd. (Nasdaq:VRST), the leading supplier of essential technology and methodology for functional verification, and YogiTech S.p.A, a leading independent IC design engineering company, today announced that YogiTech has developed three new e Verification Components (eVCs) for the AT Attachment Packet Interface (ATAPI), Controller Area Network (CAN) and the Open Core Protocol (OCP). All three eVCs are now available to customers worldwide through YogiTech, a member of Verisity's Verification Alliance(TM) partner program. In addition, the CAN and OCP eVCs comply with Verisity's e Reuse Methodology (eRM(TM)), while the ATAPI eVC will be eRM compliant by the third quarter of 2003. Compliance with eRM guidelines ensures that the three YogiTech eVCs will interoperate seamlessly with all other eRM-compliant eVCs.
"The availability of system-level verification components is as critical as the IP blocks that are verified. YogiTech's competence with Verisity's Specman Elite(R), coupled with our experience, positions us perfectly to provide these valuable eVCs," said Silvano Motto, president and chief executive officer of YogiTech. "We're excited by the interest in our expanding eVC portfolio and related consulting services, and have enjoyed working with Verisity on these new eVCs."
"YogiTech is at the forefront of the verification reuse movement with their continued development of reusable, plug-and-play eVCs," said Sean Redmond, vice president and general manager for European Operations for Verisity. "Together with Specman Elite, eVCs deliver the most effective solution offered on the market today. These eVCs are excellent examples of how YogiTech is enabling engineers to get through verification bottlenecks much quicker and easier, while reducing cost and time-to-market, and improving quality."
An eVC is a reusable plug-and-play verification component for standard protocols and interfaces. It is based on Verisity's e verification language and the Specman Elite testbench automation solution. An eVC comprises a complete verification environment including test generation, assertion checking and monitoring, and functional coverage scenarios. eVCs are configurable and extensible to satisfy each specific verification environment's requirements. All three of the eVCS will comply with Verisity's e Reuse Methodology (eRM). eRM is a complete reuse methodology that codifies the best practices for eVC development, delivers a common eVC usage model and ensures that all eRM compliant eVCs will interoperate seamlessly regardless of origin.
Advanced Technology Attachment Packet Interface (ATAPI) is an interface between a computer and its internal peripherals such as DVD-ROM drives. ATAPI provides the command set for controlling devices connected via an IDE interface. ATAPI is part of the Enhanced IDE (E-IDE) interface, also known as ATA-2. ATAPI was extended for use in DVD-ROM drives by the SFF 8090 specification.
Controller Area Network is a high-integrity serial data communications bus for real-time applications that operates at data rates up to 1 Megabit per second. CAN is now an international standard, ISO11898, that is widely accepted in automotive applications and also used in industrial control and factory automation.
The Open Core Protocol delivers an openly licensed, core-centric protocol that comprehensively fulfills system-level integration requirements. The OCP defines a comprehensive, bus-independent, high-performance and configurable interface between IP cores and on-chip communication subsystems.
