Netergy Microelectronics Licenses VOIP TechnologySANTA CLARA, CA - 16 July, 2003 - Netergy Microelectronics, Inc., a subsidiary of 8x8, Inc. (NASDAQ: EGHT), and Myson Century Inc., announced today that Myson Century has licensed Netergy's voice over IP (VoIP) Audacity-T2 and T2U semiconductor products and Veracity software. Under the terms of the agreement, Myson Century has obtained rights to sell T2 and T2U based semiconductor products bundled with the Veracity software. In return, Myson will pay Netergy a license fee and royalties will be due to Netergy for each T2 and T2U chip Myson sells. The Audacity-T2 product family is a high performance, system-on-a-chip that contains a unified RISC/DSP processor optimized for voice over IP applications. The T2U contains dual Ethernet 10/100BT MAC's, an ATM Utopia bus, and sufficient on chip memory to eliminate the need for external SRAM or DRAM. The Veracity software suite provides all of the industry standard call control protocols deployed in VoIP networks today including H.323v4, SIP, MGCP and Megaco as well as the G.7xx series of audio codecs, and network functions. "Myson is pleased to be working with Netergy to address the growing opportunity of the VoIP market," said Jeffrey Y. Tang, Myson Century's president. "The Netergy VoIP technology is an excellent compliment to our other product lines." "Myson provides Netergy with an additional sales channel with which to bring our technology to market," said Christopher Peters, Netergy's CEO. "Myson's technical expertise and proven success in the networking market are key to their success in the VoIP business". About Myson Century, Inc. About Netergy Microelectronics, Inc. About 8x8, Inc.
