SuperH joins IBM Blue Logic IP collaboration programIBM ASIC Customers Have Access to SuperH RISC CPU Cores September 18, 2003 - SuperH, Inc., the leading supplier of multimedia RISC CPU cores, today announced that it has become a member of the IBM Blue Logic IP Collaboration Program. The program facilitates first-time-success design and rapid time-to-market of advanced system-on-chip (SoC) products, and creates a close working relationship between IBM and select third-party semiconductor intellectual property (SIP) providers. The high-performance SuperH cores give IBM customers' access to IP that is used as the heart of many car information systems, set top boxes, and residential gateway products, among many other types of embedded systems. "We are excited to be a part of the IBM Blue Logic IP Program," said Rick Chapman, VP of marketing and business development for SuperH. "Access to IBM's world-class ASIC manufacturing technology is an important step in fulfilling SuperH's charter of making the SuperH architecture available at key foundries throughout the industry." "The Blue Logic IP Collaboration Program has been well-received by customers who require a broad range of design and manufacturing options in order to meet their design and time-to-market goals," said Tom Reeves, vice president, ASIC product group, IBM Microelectronics. "The program increases offerings in the IBM library of technical solutions and helps enable select third party providers, like SuperH, to offer their solutions within the IBM Blue Logic design methodology."
