AMI Semiconductor Has Successful Year in 2003
Leading semiconductor IDM achieves record revenues, design wins and looks to continue success in 2004
Pocatello, ID - March 24, 2004 - AMI Semiconductor (NASDAQ: AMIS), a designer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art integrated mixed-signal and structured digital products for the automotive, medical and industrial sectors, achieves record revenues and design wins in 2003. AMIS achieved record revenues of $454 million up from $345 million in 2002 – an increase of 32 percent, spurred by a strong fourth quarter. The company experienced dramatic revenue growth in each of its target end markets: 44 percent in automotive, 27 percent in medical, 21 percent in industrial, and 56 percent in communications. AMIS also reported a 34 percent growth in three year revenue from design wins over 2002 in target markets, including 64 percent in automotive, 32 percent in industrial and 22 percent in medical. “2003 proved to be a banner year for AMI Semiconductor in all facets of the company, including our successful IPO,” said Christine King, president and CEO of AMIS. “In terms of revenues, design wins and design-ins, we scaled new heights and were able to further penetrate our key accounts and help them solve real-world problems with quality solutions providing optimal value to our customers. We look forward to the challenge of improving upon this success in 2004 as we work to continue to grow revenue, increase market share and achieve a robust bottom line.” The Integrated Mixed-Signal Products business unit had revenue of $241 million in 2003, an increase of 44 percent over 2002 sales. Accomplishments included three CAN and two wireless design-ins for ASSPs and design wins with key customers across all target end markets. The Structured Digital Products business unit generated $97 million in revenue, an annual growth of 13 percent, with continued success of its XPressArray™ structured ASIC product line and several other strategic design wins in 2003. The Mixed-Signal Foundry business unit generated $116 million and was awarded the First Medical Finished Unit Program for finished units.
