Faraday's USB2.0 ASIC reached over 24 million pieces in production

Hsinchu, Taiwan - July 22, 2004 - Faraday Technology Corporation (TAIEX: 3035), a leading fabless ASIC and IP company, today announced that its USB2.0 ASIC output has reached over 24 million pieces in production.

Faraday’s USB2.0 Device Controller and PHY are widely adopted by numerous IC design firms, which is responsible for the record output production of 3.6 million pieces in the month of June 2004 alone making Faraday the most fought after USB IP partner in the marketplace.

As far as the USB2.0 application markets are concerned, Faraday has produced in an excess of 24 million pieces since its initial introduction and the number is climbing still.  In the spirit of excellence, Faraday also developed the high-speed USB2.0 OTG Controller as well as the soon to be launched Host Controller in Q4 2004.  The dual is expected to be a major component in many embedded system applications.

As more and more customers are adopting the USB2.0 OTG in their designs, Faraday’s IPs is poised to help its customers to position themselves in the leadership position in the portable IA market.

Currently Faraday’s USB2.0 IP portfolio includes the USB2.0 PHY, USB2.0 Device Controller and the USB2.0 OTG Controller IP.  Those IP blocks can be customized to provide solutions for an assortment of USB applications.  In order to ensure design compatibility and performance stability, all Faraday’s USB IPs have gone through vigorous simulations and testing.  In short, with the addition of the USB Host Controller to its family in Q4 this year, Faraday is ensured a forefront position in the next generation of the USB market boom.
