LogicVision and Magma Team to Ensure Interoperability Between icBIST and Blast Create
Collaboration aimed at delivering an integrated RTL-to-GDSII flow that simplifies embedded test insertion and eliminates iterations
San Jose, Calif. — Oct. 25, 2004 — LogicVision, Inc., (NASDAQ:LGVN), a leading provider of embedded yield enhancement solutions for integrated circuits and systems, and Magma Design Automation, Inc., (NASDAQ:LAVA), a supplier of chip design solutions, today announced they have reached an agreement under which the companies will deliver complete interoperability between LogicVision’s icBIST and Magma’s Blast Create™ and Blast Fusion® products. This collaboration will provide a seamless RTL-to-GDSII flow that includes LogicVision’s industry-leading embedded test technology. The companies will first focus on automating embedded logic testing within the RTL-to-GDSII flow. Embedded logic testing is a key component of LogicVision’s Embedded Test technology. This embedded logic test capability leverages industry-proven scan-based test techniques to deliver robust, built-in, at-speed structural test and advanced diagnostics of random logic within systems on chip (SoCs). Blast Create, for logic design, and Blast Fusion, for physical design, are key components of Magma’s RTL-to-GDSII flow. Blast Create provides a unified environment for logic synthesis, physical synthesis, DFT analysis and insertion, power optimization and static timing analysis. Blast Fusion provides advanced analysis and optimization capabilities for designing high-performance, low-power designs. The Magma-LogicVision integrated flow will greatly simplify the implementation of designs with embedded logic test and eliminate iterations. “Magma is committed to providing the highest quality design environment for its customers. As part of this commitment, we constantly work to improve interoperability with best-in-class tools provided by partners such as LogicVision,” said Kam Kittrell, general manager of Magma’s Logic Design Business Unit. “The seamless flow will allow common customers to achieve their test objectives without affecting their functional timing and delivery schedule.” “With the Magma software, methodologies and training provided by the agreement, LogicVision will have access to the best possible RTL-to-GDSII flow for circuits incorporating our Embedded Test technology,” said Jim Healy, president and CEO of LogicVision. “This new flow is part of our continuing commitment to bring our customers the best, most accurate and easy-to-use Embedded Test methodologies, providing a clear path to improved yield.” About Magma Design Automation, Inc.
