Legerity Selects StarCore Technology to Power Its Next Generation VoIP and FTTP Products

AUSTIN, TEXAS and SAN JOSE, CALIF. – March 8, 2005 - Legerity Incorporated, the world’s dominant supplier and innovator of voice interface solutions, and StarCore LLC, a leading provider of licensable processor solutions, today announced at Spring VON 2005 that Legerity has licensed the StarCore’s Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology for use in IP communication applications. The Starcore technology will enable Legerity to expand its industry-leading portfolio of voice ICs. The company plans to utilize its experience and expertise in analog and mixed-signal applications to enter new markets with product offerings in both wired and wireless VoIP. The first Legerity products based on the StarCore technology are expected to be released in the second half of 2005. “The flexibility and performance of the StarCore technology enables us to more quickly respond to our customer’s ever increasing feature-set requirements and performance needs while decreasing their overall system cost,” said Shoaib Mohammad, Legerity’s director of corporate business development. “StarCore technology provides an essential building block for our next generation of VoIP products.” Legerity, the incumbent provider of voice interface circuitry in the Fiber To The Premise (FTTP) market, also plans to use StarCore technology to further enhance its Voice Control Processor (VCP) and highly acclaimed line test diagnostic algorithms in upcoming VoIP products.
