IPCore and eMemory form alliance to provide a comprehensive single-poly OTP solution
Shanghai, P. R. C. March 13, 2005 – IPCore Technologies Corporation, China’s largest design service company, announces an alliance with Taiwan’s eMemory Technology Inc., one of Asia’s most innovative embedded memory IP suppliers, to offer a comprehensive single-poly OTP (one-time-programmable) solution, the first of its kind in the Greater China region. This solution is silicon proven on major foundries such as TSMC, Chartered, etc., with future introduction to CSMC in Wuxi, China. This offering features configurations based on the most common 16-bit and 8-bit block sizes of eMemory's non-volatile single-poly OTP memory technology in 0.5um, 0.35um, 0.25um and 0.18um.
This alliance will bring IPCore and eMemory working together to lower the business barriers and reduce the technical risks of using emb-OTP for the increasing number of data storage and retention functions required by today's converging array of communications, computing and consumer electronics. IPCore is the first design service company in China offering silicon proven and pre-qualified OTP memory blocks as a cost-effective, flexible alternative to other emb-NVM solutions such as ROM, EEPROM and Flash. Cost-effective, Flexible Memory Solution Unlike traditional double-ploy OTP, eMemory's OTP memory does not require any special semiconductor manufacturing processes; they provide programmability for embedded memory manufactured in standard CMOS processes. These offer all the same data storage and functionality of OTP with the additional benefits of higher operating performance, lower voltage operation/lower power consumption, smaller chip area and reduced manufacturing costs. eMemory's OTP blocks can also be used in conjunction with the broad range of third-party mixed-signal and analog components for system-on-chip implementations. The standard OTP memory offering is compatible with target foundries’ standard cell libraries and memory compilers available from its various library partners, and is supported by industry-leading design automation tools.
