NXP IPO - a snapshot of industry healthPallab's Place - Pallab ChatterjeeAug. 09, 2010 |
NXP went IPO on August 6th in the morning. The IPO price was $14 raising $476M for the venture. The proceeds will be primarily used to buy down their debt position, that was incurred in their separation from NV Philips. The original IPO was targeted at a $19.50 avg price/$21 high price. Even though the market position on the overall strength and health of the semiconductor industry drove the price down, the NXP executives felt that the time was right, as the upswing in mixed signal and mobile are starting and it was a strong position for the investors.
