Sarance, Spirent Communications Partner To Develop Next Generation 40/100G Ethernet Test Solution
Sarance’s High-Speed 40Gand 100G Ethernet Intellectual Property Cores Accelerate Design and Development of Next Generation Networking Test Equipment
Ottawa Canada --September 30, 2009 - Sarance Technologies, the leading supplier of high speed interconnect Intellectual Property (IP) technology, and Spirent Communications, today announced a licensing agreement to incorporate Sarance’s High Speed Ethernet IP Core (HSEC) 40G and 100G IP products in Spirent TestCenter™. Spirent, is a global provider of networking, services and device testing, was recently recognized by Frost & Sullivan at the worldwide leader in Ethernet testing.
“Sarance’s 100G and 40G Ethernet cores have already been licensed by major networking companies and have gone through rigorous testing by passing live Internet traffic” said Farhad Shafai, vice president of R&D at Sarance Technologies. “The adoption of the same cores by a major test equipment vendor like Spirent further validates the robustness of Sarance IP and provides the quickest path for network equipment vendors to get their products to the market. We’re excited to be working with Spirent and to accelerate the deployment of 100G and 40G equipment.”
“As the testing standard for tomorrow’s networks, Spirent TestCenter goes beyond advanced functionality to include new levels of enhanced realism with scalability and performance testing,” said Tom McBeath, CTO, Spirent Communications. “This partnership with Sarance on HSEC, helps ensure that our customer are prepared for all aspects of 40/100G Ethernet development.”
The HSEC IP is available as soft core for Virtex®-5 TXT and Virtex®-6 LXT FPGAs and Altera Stratix® IV GT and Altera Stratix® IV GX FPGAs, as well as for ASIC implementations. It has also been implemented and validated in 65nm and 40nm process technologies. The IP is delivered as a netlist targeted for the specific FPGA architecture, or as RTL code that can be implemented in any ASIC process technology.
