Hynix Standardizes on SpringSoft's Verification Enhancement and Custom IC Design Solutions
HSINCHU, Taiwan, October 26, 2010 — SpringSoft, Inc. (TAIEX: 2473), a global supplier of specialized IC design software, today announced that Hynix Semiconductor Inc (‘Hynix’) has standardized on the Verdi™ Automated Debug System and Laker™ Custom Layout Automation System. The long-time SpringSoft customer has deployed the Verdi software as the debug platform for digital designs and the Laker software as the custom chip design platform for flash memory applications.
Based in Korea, Hynix is the world’s top tier memory semiconductor supplier of Dynamic Random Access Memory (“DRAMs”), Flash memory ("NAND Flash"), and CMOS Image Sensor ("CIS") chips to a wide range of distinguished companies globally. The SpringSoft tools enable Hynix’s development team to achieve significant productivity gains in the functional verification and physical design of high quality memory solutions.
“Providing the best possible memory solutions is our core competency. This requires a world-class EDA platform that addresses our design and verification needs with the highest levels of productivity and performance,” said Lee Sang-IL, head of CAE at Hynix. “SpringSoft understands this and provides maximum value to our design teams by focusing on the most critical challenges with Verdi and Laker. We’ve already benefited from their time-saving automation technologies and look forward to continuing this successful relationship.”
The Verdi Automated Debug System is SpringSoft’s flagship product for advanced debug and the cornerstone for its family of verification enhancement solutions. It cuts debug time in half by automating the process of comprehending how complex IC and system-on-chip (SoC) designs work with unique behavioral analysis engines, powerful visualization capabilities, and patented signal tracing techniques. The Laker solutions provide a highly automated custom chip design environment for producing superior results in less time, including intuitive, full-featured schematic editor; patented Magic Cell (MCell™) technology that automates device generation; and complete schematic-driven layout (SDL) flow to speed physical implementation.
“Verdi and Laker are an important part of the chip development ecosystem today because they save engineers time, so they can do more verification in less time and produce high quality designs with less effort,” said Johnson Teng, chief operating officer and executive vice president at SpringSoft. “Hynix’s commitment to creating a development engine built on best-in-class tools and flows is a testament to its leadership and strategic vision for driving future growth of its core memory business and Korea’s semiconductor industry.”
