Memoir Systems Selects ChipStart as Global Sales Representative Company
ChipStart will represent Memoir's breakthrough memory technology products to world-wide marketplace
SANTA CLARA, Calif., January 9, 2012—Memoir Systems Inc., the Semiconductor Intellectual Property (SIP) provider that delivers breakthrough memory performance, today announced that it has selected ChipStart as the global sales representative for the company’s products. Memoir’s products incorporate its unique, patent-pending Algorithmic Memory® technology that solves the Memory Operations Per Second (MOPS) bottlenecks that plague today’s SoC applications. The company’s technology provides an order of magnitude increase in embedded memory performance and also shortens memory development time.
Adam Kablanian, CEO of Memoir Systems noted, “There are several compelling technical and business aspects to our selecting ChipStart as our global sales representative. First and foremost, they understand IP and they know how to sell it. They also have a very solid grasp of the embedded memory market and the technological challenges inherent in that space. These factors, in combination with their global presence and the high esteem with which they are regarded by their customer base, make them a perfect fit for Memoir Systems.”
Howard Pakosh, Chief Executive Officer for ChipStart noted, "In working with many IP developers, large and small, it's not often that we see a revolutionary concept in the IP market arena. What impressed us about Memoir's technology is that they can take any third-party embedded memory and build their unique RTL around it and immediately provide benefits in terms of higher memory performance. In certain instances where additional performance is not required, the technology can also significantly lower memory area and reduce memory power. Potential customers can readily grasp the advantages to be gained from Memoir's technology and products. The fact that it is process, node and foundry independent, means that it can be dropped into any existing SoC design flow so that customers can see immediate benefits from it. Memoir complements our strategy to become the leading, trusted supplier of best-in-class IP subsystems and silicon solutions."
Memoir Systems’ Algorithmic Memory technology is implemented as standard RTL built around existing embedded memory macros. It presents multiple memory interfaces that can all be accessed simultaneously, giving up to 10X more Memory Operations Per Second (MOPS). Memory performance can now be viewed as a configurable entity so that memory performance characteristics, such as the number of read, write interfaces and any special requirements regarding area and power can be specified. In addition, Memoir’s synthesis platform can automatically select suitable memory macros from a memory IP library, and incorporate memory algorithms to synthesize a new memory that is custom-made for the targeted application.
About Memoir Systems, Inc.
Memoir Systems, Inc. is a provider of breakthrough embedded memory technology that is delivered as Semiconductor Intellectual Property (SIP). The company utilizes its patent-pending Algorithmic Memory™ technology to increase the performance of existing memory macros – up to 10X more Memory Operations Per Second (MOPS). In addition, the technology significantly shortens memory development time, and may lower area and power consumption if performance is kept the same. Memoir’s technology is process, node, and foundry independent, and can be readily integrated into any existing SoC (ASICs, ASSPs, GPPs and FPGAs) design flow. The company’s strategy is to deliver technology and business benefits to its customers and partners by providing solutions that are drop-in replacements for existing embedded memory. Memoir Systems is based in Santa Clara, California, and has additional research and development facilities located in Hyderabad, India. For more information, visit www.memoir-systems.com.
