Chips&Media Partners with Solomon Systech to Build Leadership Position in Projector Market
Solomon Systech ramps up MagusCore™ SSD1938 multimedia processor based on Chips&Media’s multi-standards HD video processing engine, CODA7 Series.
Seoul, Korea. –February9, 2012 – Chips&Media, Inc.(“Chips&Media”), a leading company in silicon Intellectual Property (IP), announced today that Solomon Systech Limited (“Solomon Systech”), a leading semiconductor company providing display IC products and system solutions, has utilized the video core technology of Chips&Media’s CODA7 series in its MagusCore™ platform designed for high-level portable devices. Solomon Systech has started high-volume shipments of its SSD1938 targeting the projector market.
Incorporating the advanced Chips&Media HD video processing technology, Solomon Systech’s SSD1938 of the MagusCore™ family, is an innovative cost-competitive SoC application processor with comprehensive multimedia capabilities, power saving features, efficient memory and user interfaces. MagusCore™ already has multiple proven applications in the market, such as Android based portable multimedia players (PMP), projectors, IP cameras, car surveillance systems, DVRs, eReaders, digital TVs, personal navigation devices and many other industrial applications. Solomon Systech is particularly interested in the projector market which shows surging demand and strong market potential.
