Design & Reuse takes its unified IP data center vision to the next level in latest IP Enterprise Management Platform release
D&R announces new IP Enterprise Management Platform release that continuously synchronizes with client systems for efficient IP management.
Grenoble, France, Nov. 28, 2012 /D&R News/ - The latest release of the Design & Reuse (D&R) IP Enterprise Management Platform, IPMS v8, has been enhanced to become a unified IP data center with built-in intelligent automation. Already renowned in the industry for its powerful IP Product Catalog Engine, D&R's IP Enterprise Management Platform provides "IP-centric" management panels which work as powerful customizable viewers, displaying data needed for efficient IP management and workflow control. New automated synchronization bridges added during the IP management panel configuration process enable IP managers to stay in sync with updates made to their IP design, IP sales and outsourced IP management systems in a seamless manner.
Bridging to IP Design Management:The platform can be used as a designer-friendly unified front end to revision control systems to perform actions such as IP block check-in and check-out. Automated "triggers" can be set up to dynamically "record" new IP revisions to the platform and alert specific users or user groups in real time.
Bridging to IP Sales Management:
Specific IP releases that have been delivered to customers can be recorded in a panel as "Shelf Delivery Releases". "IP Delivery Panels" log all delivery actions performed for a customer for a given release. The delivery data is visible from the catalog, providing a unified view for sales managers that is synchronized with their CRM systems.
Bridging to Outsourced IP Management:
Data on outsourced IP that needs to be visible at a glance from the platform can be pushed to the platform automatically from corporate contracting or finance department databases using a trigger mechanism. Automated real-time alerts can also be issued for payment due or license expiration events, as well as completion of legal compliance checking or royalty calculations.
The platform is fully scalable in its ability to add "unlimited intelligence" just by adding new advanced XML types to catalog and panel configurations.
"To streamline the import of third party IP to create innovative high-performance designs on our 3PLD devices, we needed advanced IP management capabilities," said Tunc Eroglu, IP Engineering Manager at Tabula. "This included managing the IP licensing workflows, providing easy to use IP vendor interfaces, and instantiating the IP into our Stylus design environment. We were concerned that synchronizing all of these views would be a major challenge; however, the D&R platform, with its decade of broad IP management experience built in, enabled us to set up all of these functions very quickly and have them work seamlessly on the first try."
"It is great to see our large portfolio of logic and mixed signal IP and Subsystem deliverables be so easily accessible by all our sales managers, with all associated metadata perfectly synchronized to our CRM system", said Jean François Pollet, Vice President of Business Development at Dolphin Integration. "Providing access to all of this information in a unified manner and keeping it up to date is so much simpler for us now that we are using the D&R IP management platform."
"D&R's mission is to continually advance our technology to meet the needs of our clients, whether they be IP providers, fabless IC vendors or foundries," said Gabrièle Saucier, Design & Reuse CEO. We are proud to share this enhanced IP data center platform and believe it will be a key expediter for IP businesses."
The new IP Enterprise Management Platform release IPMS V8 is available now and can be licensed in combination with bridging infrastructure setup services.
