Artisan Components' Industry Standard Design Platform To Support Silterra's Advanced 0.18-Micron Process
Joint Agreement Provides Customers with Artisan's Product Solutions Optimized for Silterra's CMOS18 Process
SUNNYVALE, Calif., -- June 5, 2002 -- Artisan Components, Inc., (Nasdaq: ARTI), a leading provider of semiconductor intellectual property (IP) and Silterra Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., a premier semiconductor-manufacturing foundry, today announced an agreement that provides Artisan's industry standard design platform for Silterra's advanced 0.18-micron CMOS process. Under the terms of the agreement, Artisan has committed to deliver a comprehensive offering of memory generators for single- and dual-port SRAM, one- and two-port register files and diffusion programmable ROM. Artisan's SAGE-X™ Standard Cell Library and I/O cell library will also be developed. Early access of the standard cell library is expected to be available for Silterra's customers in third quarter of 2002.
Artisan's suite of products will be optimized for Silterra's 0.18-micron CMOS18 design rules and characterized using the latest electrical models of Silterra's xSM compatible process. The products will include support for Artisan's extensive set of views and models of the industry's leading EDA tools.
Over 900 companies worldwide use Artisan's design platforms. Combined with Silterra's advanced manufacturing technologies, the Artisan-Silterra relationship can provide IC designers with design-to-silicon solutions that meet today's complex IC design and volume production requirements.
"We chose Artisan for their large market share in the end-user market," said Steve Della Rocchetta, executive vice president, sales and marketing for Silterra. "Artisan's products set the industry standard and it is important for Silterra to partner with the leader to offer customers the best in leading-edge technology."
"Silterra's extensive customer focus and success in delivering advanced process technologies matches Artisan's commitment to providing the best possible path-to-silicon for IC designers," said Neal Carney, vice president of marketing at Artisan Components. "We are pleased Silterra has selected our design platforms and we welcome Siterra as our latest foundry partner."
