Artisan Components' Industry-Standard Design Platform Adopted By Jazz Semiconductor For Advanced Communications Process Technologies
Artisan's Product Solutions To Support Jazz's Mixed-Signal, RF and Silicon Germanium Processes
SUNNYVALE, Calif., -- August 5, 2002 -- Artisan Components, Inc., (Nasdaq: ARTI), a leading provider of semiconductor intellectual property (IP) today announced that Jazz Semiconductor, an independent high-performance mixed-signal and radio frequency (RF) silicon wafer foundry, has adopted Artisan's industry-standard design platform to support Jazz's mixed-signal, RF CMOS and silicon germanium (SiGe) (BiCMOS) process technologies. The Artisan-Jazz relationship combines Artisan's widely used design platform with Jazz's advanced mixed-signal and RF processes to enable a true mixed-signal system-on chip (SoC) solution for customers' high-performance communications applications.
The relationship will enable Jazz to provide its customers with access to Artisan's products that include a comprehensive offering of memory generators for single- and dual-port SRAM, one- and two-port register files and diffusion programmable ROM. Artisan's SAGE-X™ Standard Cell and I/O libraries are also included.
Artisan's suite of products are optimized for Jazz's 0.18-micron design rules and characterized using the latest electrical models of Jazz's process. The products include support for Artisan's extensive set of views and models of the industry's leading EDA tools.
"Providing proven design components to our customers is a key part of our strategy to become a leading mixed signal and RF wafer foundry," said Paul Kempf, chief technology officer at Jazz. "Artisan's design platform has driven standardization in foundries, and will enable re-use of communications circuits in our SiGe BiCMOS technology."
"Jazz excels in providing innovative process technologies for the communications market," said Neal Carney, Artisan's vice president of marketing. "Their experience enables them to hit the ground running with proven mixed signal and RF process technologies including SiGe BiCMOS. By adopting Artisan's products, Jazz will have access to an extensive customer base of communications customers looking for a high performance mixed signal SOC solution."
Product Availability
Artisan's design platform products are available immediately from Jazz Semiconductor. Customers should contact Jazz for access to 0.18-micron design kits for mixed-signal and RF CMOS technology, as well as for Jazz's 0.18-micron SiGe BiCMOS.
