TriCN introduces Hypertransport I/O technology
High-performance interface targeted towards Computing and Consumer markets.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA –May 27, 2003 –TriCN, a leading developer of intellectual property (IP) for high-speed semiconductor interface technology, today announced the immediate availability of its new HyperTransport I/O solution. TriCN's HyperTransport offering employs Lightning Data Transport (LDT) I/Os that operate at speeds ranging from 200MHz to 800MHz.
HyperTransport is a high performance interface specification capable of supporting a wide variety of products and applications. This includes switches, computing products ranging from servers to workstations and desktop computers, as well as consumer game consoles and hand-held devices.
A recent report from International Data Corp (IDC) forecast that the global port count for HyperTransport switch fabric alone will exceed 30 million ports this year, with 200 million ports forecast across multiple market segments by 2006.
"HyperTransport is a well designed and broadly applicable interface standard, with strong industry backing, which accounts for its increasing popularity", said TriCN CTO Ron Nikel. "TriCN's HyperTransport introduction is the latest in our efforts to address any and all high-performance interface needs for our customers."
Availability
TriCN's HyperTransport I/O solution is available immediately as a hard macro in the TSMC 0.13um process.
