Avago Technologies Files Optical Sensor IP Lawsuit Against STMicroelectronics (Tuesday Mar. 30, 2010)
Avago Technologies announced today that on March 15, 2010 Avago filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas against STMicroelectronics. Avago alleges that certain STMicroelectronics products infringe four of Avago’s patents covering optical navigation technology and is seeks cash compensation and an order preventing further infringement of the technology.

Lantiq Sues Network Equipment Manufacturer Billion Electric (Monday Mar. 08, 2010)
Lantiq has filed suit against Billion Electric for patent infringement. Lantiq asserts that some of Billion’s ADSL2/ADSL2+ modem products infringe upon Lantiq’s intellectual property, where these products contain a communications semiconductor from Taiwanese chipset supplier Trendchip.

Infineon today announced that on January 21, 2010, it filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Volterra Semiconductor. The suit alleges that Volterra’s voltage regulators and pulse width modulation controllers infringe four United States patents owned by Infineon.

Samsung and Rambus Sign Comprehensive Agreement (Wednesday Jan. 20, 2010)
Samsung Electronics and Rambus announced today that they have reached agreement settling all claims between them and licensing Rambus' patent portfolio covering all Samsung semiconductor products including a perpetual fully paid-up license to certain current DRAM products. As part of the overall agreement, Samsung will invest $200M in Rambus stock.
