• Huawei Files Lawsuit Against Motorola for IP Infringement (Monday Jan. 24, 2011)
  Huawei Technologies today asked a U.S. District Court to prevent Motorola from illegally transferring Huawei's intellectual property (IP) to Nokia Siemens Networks. Huawei took this action as NSN seeks to complete its US$1.2 billion acquisition of Motorola's wireless network business.
  
  
• Broadcom and WiLAN Reach Agreement to End Litigations (Thursday Jan. 20, 2011)
  Wi-LAN today announced that Broadcom and WiLAN have signed a memorandum of understanding which calls for Broadcom to take a multi-year license to WiLAN’s patent portfolio and to make a series of payments to WiLAN.
  
  
• Atheros and WiLAN Reach Agreement to End Litigations (Thursday Jan. 20, 2011)
  WiLAN today announced that Atheros Communications and WiLAN have signed a memorandum of understanding which calls for Atheros to take a multi-year license to WiLAN’s patent portfolio and to make a series of payments to WiLAN.
  
  
• Intel and WiLAN Reach Agreement to End Litigations (Monday Jan. 17, 2011)
  Wi-LAN today announced that Intel and WiLAN have signed a memorandum of understanding which calls for Intel to take a multi-year license to WiLAN’s patent portfolio and to make a series of payments to WiLAN.
  
  
• ITC backs Rambus with 34-company probe (Tuesday Jan. 04, 2011)
  The United States International Trade Commission has announced that it will launch an investigation into various chips and memory controllers and products that contain them, including PC motherboards, modems, routers and computers, following a complaint filed by Rambus Inc.
  
  
• WiLAN and LG Settle Wireless Patent Litigation (Thursday Dec. 23, 2010)
  Wi-LAN today announced that WiLAN has settled all pending wireless patent litigation with LG. As a result of the settlement, LG has obtained a multi-year license to certain patents of WiLAN. LG will make a series of fixed cash payments to WiLAN.
  
  
• Mentor Graphics Files Patent Infringement Suit Against EVE in Tokyo District Court (Friday Dec. 17, 2010)
  Mentor Graphics today announced it will continue its claims of patent infringement against EVE emulation products in Japan before the Tokyo District Court in accordance with the ruling from the Japanese Customs Office.
  
  
• EVE Prevails Against Mentor Graphics' Infringement Allegation (Friday Dec. 17, 2010)
  EVE today announced that the Japanese Customs Office has rendered a decision to reject Mentor Graphics' application to suspend the importation of its best-in-class emulation systems.
  
  
• MOSAID and IBM Sign Patent License Agreement, Resolve Patent Litigation Suit (Thursday Dec. 16, 2010)
  MOSAID Technologies today announced that it has entered into a patent license agreement with IBM Corporation of Armonk, New York. A separate settlement agreement effectively ends the pending litigation between MOSAID and IBM.
  
  
• Patent firm pursues DRAM, FPGA companies (Wednesday Dec. 08, 2010)
  Intellectual Ventures Management LLC, a patent holder and administration group founded by Nathan Myhrvold, a former CTO of Microsoft Corp., has taken action on multiple fronts alleging patent infringement. In semiconductor industry the firm is pursuing two memory chip makers and three FPGA vendors.
  
  
• Rambus Files ITC Complaint against Broadcom, Freescale, LSI, MediaTek, NVIDIA and STMicroelectronics (Thursday Dec. 02, 2010)
  Rambus today announced it has filed a complaint with the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) requesting the commencement of an investigation pertaining to products from Broadcom Corporation, Freescale Semiconductor, Inc., LSI Corporation, MediaTek Inc., NVIDIA Corporation and STMicroelectronics N. • Sidense Files Action Against Third Kilopass Patent at USPTO (Monday Nov. 29, 2010)
  Sidense announced today that it has requested the USPTO to reexamine Kilopass U.S. Patent Nos. 6,950,751 entitled “High density semiconductor memory cell and memory array using a single transistor and having variable gate oxide breakdown,” and rule that the claims of this patent are invalid.
  
  
• Ralink Sues Lantiq for Patent Infringement (Tuesday Nov. 09, 2010)
  Ralink Technology today announced that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against German xDSL chip manufacturer Lantiq.
  
  
• Sidense Files Action Against Kilopass Patents at USPTO (Tuesday Nov. 02, 2010)
  Sidense announced today that it has requested the USPTO to reexamine Kilopass U.S. Patent Nos. 6,777,757 and 6,856,540, each entitled "High Density Semiconductor Memory Cell and Memory Array using a Single Transistor," and rule that the claims of these patents are invalid.
  
  
• US District Court Accepts Kilopass' Expanded Complaint and Denies Sidense's Motion for Dismissal in Patent Lawsuit (Tuesday Oct. 19, 2010)
  Kilopass announced today that the United States District Court Judge for the Northern District of California has accepted Kilopass’ expanded complaint and–without a hearing–has denied Sidense’s motion for dismissal.
  
  
• Sidense Reports: US Court Rules That "No Further Amendments of the Complaint Will Be Allowed" by Kilopass (Friday Oct. 15, 2010)
  Sidense announced that Judge Illston has granted Kilopass permission to file its proposed Second Amended Complaint (Kilopass's third version of a complaint), but ruled that "No further amendments of the complaint will be allowed."

• Moore Microprocessor Portfolio (MMP) Inventor Files Lawsuit against TPL Group (Tuesday Oct. 05, 2010)
  Silicon Valley technologist and legendary inventor Charles H. Moore announced that he has filed suit in Superior Court of Santa Clara, CA against the TPL Group and Alliacense LLC, patent licensing firms based in Cupertino, CA, alleging fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract.
  
  
• Acacia Subsidiary Enters into Settlement Agreement with Hynix (Friday Oct. 01, 2010)
  Acacia Research Corporation announced today that its DRAM Technology LLC subsidiary has entered into a settlement agreement with Hynix Semiconductor, Inc regarding patents related to double data rate SDRAM devices. The settlement agreement resolves litigation that was pending in the Eastern District of Texas.
  
  
• WiLAN Announces Release of Markman Order (Tuesday Sep. 21, 2010)
  Wi-LAN today announced that Judge T. John Ward of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas issued a claim construction Opinion and Order yesterday in ongoing litigations between WiLAN and various defendants including Intel Corporation, Hewlett-Packard Company, Broadcom Corporation, Dell, Inc. and Apple Inc.

• Sidense Granted Anti-fuse Memory Cell Patent by USPTO (Friday Aug. 20, 2010)
  Sidense, a leading developer of Logic Non-Volatile Memory (LNVM) IP cores, announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has recently granted the Company Patent Number 7,755,162, “Anti-fuse Memory Cell.”
  
  
• MOSAID Announces Cisco Complaint (Tuesday Aug. 17, 2010)
  MOSAID today announced that Cisco filed a Complaint for Declaratory Judgment in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. In its complaint, Cisco is seeking a declaration of non-infringement and invalidity with respect to nine U.S. patents and one patent application owned by MOSAID, and which relate generally to Power-over-Ethernet technology.
  
  
• EVE Stands Firm Against Mentor Graphics Corporation's Allegations (Tuesday Aug. 17, 2010)
  Mentor Graphics announced today that it filed a complaint against EVE alleging infringement of its United States Patent No. 6,876,962 issued April 5, 2005, titled “Method and Apparatus For Concurrent Emulation of Multiple Circuit Designs On An Emulation System.”
  
  
• Mentor Graphics Files Patent Infringement Suit against EVE (Monday Aug. 16, 2010)
  Mentor Graphics today announced it had filed a patent infringement suit against EVE in the U.S. Federal District Court for the District of Oregon.
  
  
• US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Rejects All Claims of Sidense's Key Patent ('855) and Orders Reexamination (Thursday Aug. 12, 2010)
  Kilopass announced today that it has achieved the first major milestone at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) by being granted the request for an inter partes reexamination of Sidense's U.S. Patent No. 7,402,855.   MagSil today announced that the litigation between MagSil and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), on the one hand, and Western Digital Corporation (NYSE:WDC) and its affiliates, on the other hand, has been satisfactorily resolved by an out of court settlement, and Western Digital Corporation and its affiliates have received a license to the patent at issue in the lawsuit.
  
  
• MMP Portfolio(TM) Prevails In Latest Patent Reexamination (Wednesday Jul. 28, 2010)
  Patriot Scientific, The TPL Group and Alliacense today announced their latest success in overcoming attempts to challenge the validity of the MMP Portfolio(TM). The USPTO has issued a Notice of Intent to Issue Reexamination Certificate for the US '336 patent indicating that all claims will be allowed with no amendments to the claim language.
